Award-winning composer & lyricist Zoe Sarnak and bookwriter & two-time Golden Globe winner Sarah Treem joined Discovering Broadway for a writer’s retreat to continue development on their new musical, A Beautiful Mind. The theatrical adaptation is based on Sylvia Nasar’s New York Times bestselling biography and the Universal Pictures/Imagine film directed by Ron Howard, which went on to win 4 Oscars (including Best Picture), 4 Golden Globes, and 2 BAFTAs.
During the retreat, Discovering Broadway hosted a launch party to celebrate the project’s development, featuring special performances from Broadway talent including Will Blum, Aline Mayagoitia, and Bryan Perri.
A Beautiful Mind is being developed in special arrangement with Universal Theatrical Group, Sylvia Nasar, and is commissioned by McCarter Theater. The concert premiere will take place on Friday, November 21st at 7:30 PM at Newfields’ Toby Theatre. Tickets on sale NOW.
