First Listen

Discovering Broadway is proud to announce First Listen, a groundbreaking new initiative and concert event celebrating the launch of the organization’s first-ever original musical commission, made possible through the support of Marianne Glick and Mike Woods.

The event, presented in collaboration with The Cabaret in Indianapolis, will take place on Friday, June 26th, 2026 and feature a first look at a brand-new Broadway-bound musical commission written by acclaimed composer and lyricist Zack Zadek and directed by award-winning film and theater director Joel Kirk (NETFLIX IS A JOKE FEST, Blatantly Blaine).

Leading the concert presentation will be Broadway and screen actress Sophia Anne Caruso (BEETLEJUICE, NETFLIX’S ONE PIECE) and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Justin Jesso (STARGAZING), performing never-before-heard music from the new work. The evening will also feature an artist panel discussion with the cast and creative team exploring the development of the musical and the creative process behind building original work.

All tickets include premium access to Discovering Broadway’s VIP Pre-party beginning at 5:30 PM, which includes a seated dinner and two drink tickets, as well as the VIP Afterparty which will include desserts and time to mingle with Discovering Broadway’s cast and creative team. Never-before-heard songs from a new musical commission featuring surprise Broadway stars! The evening is woven together through an artist panel where the authors and cast discuss the creative project.
